Hospital kit arrives in Morocco

The arrival of GHA medical equipment donated to the Mohamed V Hospital in Chefchaouen was met with excitement from locals including the Governor and Mayor of the Moroccan town.

A team of RifCom volunteers - a charity aimed at making a difference in Morocco - helped unload the equipment from two large trucks. It took around 15 volunteers from Gibraltar and Morocco three hours to unload the equipment.

A presentation was also held by Governor and Mayor of Chefchaouen, and a representative of the Chefchaouen health authority.

“This is a tremendous donation from the GHA to a population struck with poverty,” said co-founder and director of RifCom Julian Camble.

He added there was a lot of “chatter” online and locals were very excited.

This is not the first time the GHA has donated to Mohamed V Hospital. A few years back the GHA donated an ambulance. Mr Camble was happy to report that the donated ambulance is still up and running.

RifCom is also hosting two charity challenges, with a hike up Africa’s tallest Mountain Kilimanjaro.

The ‘Three Peaks Challenge’ will take place between October 21 st and 24 th. Organisers say the event is one of the most exciting ways to see the Rif Mountains and learn about RifCom’s charity work in Morocco.

The 2017 Kilimanjaro challenge next April is a tough challenge aimed at those ready to undergo solid training.
