HUMPBACK WHALE ON EASTER MONDAY

WHALE OFF ROSIA BAY

Local photographer Derek Booth, always with camera in hand, spotted a Humpback Whale on Easter Monday just off Rosia Bay. It was at around 2pm on Monday afternoon, a Humpback whale was observed some 200 metres off Rosia Bay, heading Northwards up The Bay. The creature was leaping from the water and hitting the surface with its tail and also rolling laterally with a fin in the air. The performance lasted some 20 minutes. Pic: D. Booth.
