Installation of Bishop Zammit

Bishop Carmel Zammit will be installed today at the Cathedral of St Mary the Crowned as the Bishop of Gibraltar.

The Solemn Mass of Installation is open to everyone and begins at midday. Present at the service will be the Governor and Chief Minister, and a representative from the Maltese Government, Stefan Buontempo. Also in Gibraltar is the Archbishop of Malta, Archbishop Charles Jude Scicluna, and the Bishops of Cadiz, Ceuta, Seville and Tangier.

Bishop Zammit will today take canonical possession of the Diocese of Gibraltar at the ceremony which begin s with procession where the new bishop will be accompanied bishops and priests from the Piazza to the Cathedral.
