Monkeys get minted

The Rock’s famous Barbary Macaques will figure on a new series of Gibraltar coins to be minted this year.
And in another numismatic nod to primates, Gibraltar will also issue a limited edition gold £100 coin marking the Chinese Year of the Monkey.
Plans for the new coins were announced at the media forum of the World Money Fair in Berlin last week by Joe Bossano, the minister responsible for the Gibraltar National Mint.
Mr Bossano other coins to be issued this year included a series dedicated to the Battle of the Atlantic.
