Notre Dame Video Call with Lewis Pugh
Year 3 students at Notre Dame School had a video call with the UN Patron of the Oceans and inspirational speaker, Lewis Pugh.
The call formed part of their learning about the environment, the global problems and ways in which they can make a difference.
Mr Pugh is the only person to have completed a long distance swim in every ocean in the world and has witnessed first-hand the effects of plastic pollution and climate change.
“His knowledge and expertise proved invaluable to the students and teachers at Notre Dame,” said a Government statement.
Mr Pugh spoke about some of his experiences and children were then invited to ask him questions relating to the topic.
“The video call was thought provoking, motivational and inspirational,” the statement added.
