Petrol station project cleared

A range of projects gained approval at Wednesday’s meeting of the Development and Planning Commission, which was held in the freshly refurbished Charles Hunt room of the John Mackintosh Hall.

These projects include the new Cepsa petrol station at British Lines Road. The petrol station is set to replace the present one on Winston Churchill Avenue when the tunnel under the runway is opened and operational.

The application is subject to an investigation into the use of solar panels on the roof and over the canopies, a detailed submission of the landscaping plans for the wall that separates it and the airfield, an archaeological watching brief is conducted and full operational and management plans are submitted.

Approval was given to Wellington Cottage for a proposed pathway and carport, for an extension and alteration to the existing dwelling at 14 Governor’s Lane and for a new gym at Beach View Terraces.
An application for a first floor extension on top of an existing unit and two storey’s extension at the rear for 18 Governor’s Cottage, was also approved.

New timber decking, a fence and installation of a French door at 1 New Passage gained permission, as did the extension and redevelopment of a building at 7/2 Gardiner’s Road.
