On Sunday, she performed an acoustic version of the song, which has been adopted as the anthem of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, with guitarist Brendan Smith. All the proceeds of the song go directly to the charity.

In 2011 Ms Willett lost her father following his four-month battle with Pancreatic Cancer, this prompted her to spread awareness of the disease. She now travels the world sharing her story at various speaking engagements and using her voice for numerous performances.

The purple light event was held at Grand Battery with a variety of guests and speakers which included, Gemma Vasquez, Derek Burke, Grainne McKenna and Isobel Ellul.

Ms Willett presence on the Rock was the brainchild of secretary and founder of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Gibraltar, Louis Baldachino. Since creating the charity in February this year Mr Baldachino, a Pancreatic Cancer survivor, has been instrumental in raising awareness of the disease in Gibraltar.
