Stepping on board the ‘Jean de la June’

Gibraltar Port Authority played host this week to the Tall Ship ‘Jean de la June’. The Sail Training Ship held an Open Day on the Sunday with many taking the chance to step on board. A 33.5m long, 110ft high traditional French Schooner sailing ship built in 1957, was originally used as a fishing vessel but after a full refurbishment is now registered as one of the UK’s Sail Training International (STI) fleet for working or holiday voyages, offering people the experience of sailing on this now converted wooden two-masted Brigantine. The vessel is currently on a sailing adventure from the Canary Islands to the UK. Pics: Johnny Bugeja
