Ambrose ‘… still dancing in the shadows’

Local artist Ambrose Avellano is back with another solo multi-media Fine Art exhibition – a follow up to his 2014 exhibition ‘Dancing under The Shadows’.

With some 20 works on show this latest exhibition is called ‘… still dancing under the shadows’ and officially opens today at the Gustavo Bacarisas Gallery.

The artist says there are three aspects to this exhibition - historical, educational and artistic. The general theme is “the endurance of the Gibraltarian identity in the face of adversity”.

“I hope for people see these artworks as markers, reference points and symbols reflecting events that have shaped one part of our maturing Gibraltarian identity,” says Mr Avellano in an interview on page 13.

The artist himself describes his latest show as both “a history and educational exhibition”.

It opens tomorrow to the public.
