DPC takes decision on Northern Defences wall

A World War II plug within the walls of the Northern Defences will be retained and access into the historical site will be given via the section of the wall that is already demolished.

The decision came during last Friday’s meeting of the Development and Planning Commission.

That section of the wall was demolished amid concerns regarding the safety of the structure.

The Gibraltar Government project was hotly debated by the members of the Commission with some wishing to see the demolished wall rebuilt and access to the Northern Defences given by the removal of the WWII plug.
