Eurocity gains outline planning approval

Eurocity received outline planning permission yesterday at the Development and Planning Commission meeting. The developers, Malbi Limited, received approval from eight members out of eleven who sat at the monthly meeting.

Meanwhile it was decided that more information now needs to be collated by the developer before the application can be considered for full planning permission.

The development was discussed for over an hour and a half, which saw both the applicant, and objectors expressing their concerns when addressing the commission.

The main objection is the distance between the residential blocks. The proposed development specifies a 12 metre distance whereas, the objectors believe it could be as low as five metres at different points.
