Falklands flag flies above No.6

The Falkland Islands flag flew above No.6 Convent Place yesterday to commemorate the anniversary of the liberation of the Falkland Islands.

Gibraltar played a significant role in the preparations of the British task force that sailed to the Falkland Islands following the Argentine invasion in 1982.

Liberation Day, marked on June 14 each year, commemorates that historic event and pays respect to the 255 British Servicemen and three Falkland Islands civilian women who gave their lives in defence of freedom and democracy.
