Gib-Israeli Chamber of Commerce holds security conference on the Rock
The Gibraltar-Israel Chamber of Commerce yesterday held a seminar on Homeland Security called "Securing the Rock".
The one day seminar focused on the increasing security threats facing Europe today and aimed at providing an insight into the various technologies and solutions available to deter and protect against any risks.
It was led by a number of security experts, all ex-generals in the Israeli army and special counter-terrorism units in Gibraltar who also participated in the seminar.
Attended by representatives from Gibraltar’s law enforcement agencies and essential services as well as private sector companies, it was officially opened by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo, who welcomed all the visiting and local delegates.
Mr Picado praised the work being done in reinforcing the relationship between Gibraltar and Israel by the Gibraltar-Israel Chamber of Commerce, and especially this latest initiative.
