Gibraltar welcomes Teams as Athletes Village comes alive

Gibraltar has welcomed this past 48hrs most of the competitors from the 22 Islands arriving on the Rock for the Gibraltar 2019 Island Games. Not all competitors had yet arrived with at least one team, Jersey encountering problems on their departure with only half the team arriving. The rest arriving tomorrow.
As the morning rose over the Athletes Village at Europa Point the residential area started to come alive as teams started to settle in and finding their way around.
Tomorrow, at 7pm the Opening Ceremony takes place at Europa Sports Complex with Sunday seeing the start of the sports events.
