Kian Ronan makes surprise move to Kings Lynn Town

Gibraltar international Kian Ronan, who has graced the Gibraltar football league with regular appearances for Lincoln Red Imps, including European football and has established himself as one of the 23 first team players of the national team has surprised many with a move to Kings Lyn FC this summer.
The player has already made a couple of appearances for Kings Lynn. He was to arrive in time to see his new club face a 6-1 defeat against Norwich City, although not playing.
His first appearance though saw him give away a penalty which saw his side walk away with a draw. Coincidentally the first opponent he faced were Lincoln City, whic is considered a sister team to Gibraltar’s Lincoln Red Imps although not associated to each other.
Announcing the arrival of the player, Mark Hughes, head coach of Kings Lynn said.
“Through a contact of Adrian Whitbread, we had heard Kian was looking to come back to England and play full-time. He is English born and has won 25 caps for Gibraltar, having recently played in the qualifiers against France and Republic of Ireland. He will be a great addition to the team, having experienced Champions League Qualifiers with Lincoln Red Imps and also testing himself against the likes of Mbappe in a world class French team”
“I am looking forward to working with Kian; I can see his professionalism, desire to win and play at a higher level. He will be great for King’s Lynn Town FC this season and hopefully next”.
His departure has taken many in Gibraltar football by surprise.
The player, who attracted attention whilst playing in Ipswich’s academy, was, however, known to have wanted to look for a return to English football.
His return to the UK will see him play in the Vanarama League, National League North.
Among the teams he can expect to face are Buxton Chester, Farsley Celtic, Southport and Warrington Town among others. Although not big names, the league will offer a wider variety of opposition and a greater number of matches throughout the season. Kian this weekend was selected in the first eleven against Cheshunt.
