La Linea cocaine dealers had £20,000 in cash

Police in La Linea seized a stash of high-purity cocaine and thousands of pounds in cash during a raid on a family of drug dealers in La Linea.

Nine members of the same family were arrested as police raided five properties and seized £20,000 in cash, €30,000 in cash and a 20-gram rock of cocaine, alongside 60 wrappers of the drug.

The investigation began when officers received a tip off that cocaine and heroin were sold from a location in Los Junquillos.

Surveillance was carried out and as a result five homes in the area were targeted.

A spokesman for the Policía Nacional said the homes to have additional security measures and surveillance points, and said they resembled “bunkers”.

Five family members have been remanded in custody while investigations continue.

In total, the Policía Nacional has shut down 38 “drug retail outlets” in La Línea this year.
