Local entrepreneur Jimmy Attias donates £30,000 to Clubhouse

Clubhouse Gibraltar has received the largest single donation in its history totalling £30,000 from local entrepreneur Jimmy Attias.

The funds will aid the charity move into their new premises at 304a Main Street. They hope to move in by June this year.

This is not the first time Mr Attias has donated thousands of pounds to a local charity,
The businessman owns a chocolate factory which produces ‘Bean and Pod’ luxury chocolates.

Mr Attias also owns Ten Acre crisps and popcorn.

“I am very pleased to be able to support Clubhouse Gibraltar, an organisation that provides invaluable assistance to people with a history of mental illness and helps them regain their lives by building up their confidence and self-esteem,” Mr Attias said.

“I hope there will be many more donations like this in the weeks and months to come.”

The staff at Clubhouse are “extremely grateful” for the donation from Mr Attias.

The new premises at Main Street will facilitate the further development of Clubhouse’s work-based programme that provides hope and opportunities for people with a history of mental illness.

“We are thrilled to have been chosen by Mr Attias to benefit from his commitment and generosity to support people who are affected by mental health problems,” said Clubhouse CEO Emily Adamberry Olivero.

“His donation will go a long way towards providing the type of environment that can help individuals recover from severe mental illness and lead personally satisfying lives.”
