Muscat elected into IG Cycling Technical Committee
Gibraltar Cycling Association’s Warren Muscat has been elected as member of the Island Games Cycling Technical Committee by the Team Managers of the Islands during the general meeting held in Gibraltar last week.
Officials from the GCA stated this week that ‘Many of the team managers stated that Gibraltar has raised the bar in terms of cycling organisation for the games and they are extatic by how the IG organisers and the Gibraltar Cycling Community promoted and endorsed those cycling events.’
‘The crowds and the level of competition will be remembered for years to come. The IIGA members present for the meeting also admitted that they had never seen the type of scenes that they witnessed at the top of the rock on the day of the time trial.’
The appointment is seen as recognition for the hard work put in by Gibraltar Cycling Association which brought some of the most memorable moments in last week’s Island Games hosted in Gibraltar when spectators showed their support running behind riders climbing the Upper Rock’s steep hills during the cycling Time Trials.
