New ‘Exhibition and sale of work’ of drawings and sketches by Jacobo Azagury
500 drawings and sketches by Gibraltarian painter Jacobo Azagury will be the focus of an exhibition and sale of works at the Garrison Library next month. Azagury is considered to be one of the Rock’s best artists and is one of the five artists whose works form part of the Mario Finlayson National Art Gallery.
The exhibition will be held on the 27th to 30th of next month and will see a series of events including talks on Azagury and his work by both Mario Finlayson and Tito Benady, with a final sale of artworks on the 30th at the Garrison Library.
The drawings and sketches are part of a private collection amassed over almost five decades by Mimon Benaim and which reflect everyday life in Gibraltar.
