Clinton tables motion on parliamentary pay
Opposition MP Roy Clinton will bring a motion in Parliament calling for salaries, Pensions and other benefits enjoyed by Members of Parliament to be determined by a body independent of Parliament.
The motion reads: "This House believes that the Salaries, Pensions and other benefits enjoyed by Members of Parliament should be determined by a body independent of Parliament.”
Mr Clinton had sought to bring a motion at the last session calling for the immediate publication of Members’, Minister’s and Office Holder’s allowances.
He proposes to move this motion when Parliament meets again this week.
