Comedy fun for GMF

Comedy acts Paul Foot, Simon Evans, Nathan Caton, Dana Alexander, Sully O'Sullivan, Matt Green and MC-Geoff Whiting have all confirmed their participation in the fifth edition of the Gibraltar Music Festival next month.

“The festival has a history of bringing the biggest and best live acts from around the globe to perform in Victoria Stadium and 2016 sees three new stages of comedy, dance and acoustic added to the programme providing one of the most varied and high calibre festival experiences across the summer season perfect for the whole family,” said a spokesperson for the GMF.

After appearing on BBC’s Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Paul Foot has made a name for himself as being one of the most out-there comedians.

Foot is known for his musings, rants, 'disturbances' and apparent aversion to pop culture and has picked up acclaim across National newspapers.

Simon Evans is an established act on the UK comedy circuit who is the writer of choice for Dara O Briain, Sean Lock, Jimmy Carr, Marcus Brigstocke and Lee Mack among others. He is also a familiar voice on BBC Radio 4 as a regular on The News Quiz, The Unbelievable Truth and Armando Iannucci’s Charm Offensive.

Nathan Caton is one of the best young comics in the UK with an award winning combination of personal and topical anecdotes which has lead to appearances on BBC2’s Mock The Week, BBC3’s Russell Howard’s Good News, BBC Radio 4’s Now Show, News Quiz and his BBC Radio 4 sitcom Can’t Tell Nathan Caton Nothing.

Dana Alexander is currently one of Britain and Canada’s hottest emerging young comedians – her style has been described as smart, irreverent and revolutionary. Having toured in over 23 countries, she's deemed a must see comic. New Zealand's Sully O'Sullivan, declared a highlight of the New Zealand International Comedy Festival by The NZ Herald, a highlight of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival by The Scotsman, has hosted a sellout standup tour of Croatia, won Canada’s annual Improvaganza Tournament, and completed two UK national tours supporting cult Heavy Metal Comic Steve Hughes.

Matt Green has worked extensively as a comedian, actor and writer for more than a decade, performing on screen, on radio and in venues up and down the UK and across the world. His television appearances include Fresh Meat (Channel 4) Doctors (BBC One) and Cradle to Grave (BBC Two).

MC-Geoff Whiting is the founder of Mirth Control Comedy and an accomplished and vastly experienced comedian in his own right. Geoff has supported Michael McIntyre, Harry Hill, Dara O Briain, Omid Djalili to name but a few.

These acts will join the already large number of appearances with top names Ne-Yo, Stereophonics, Jess Glynne, All Saints, KT Tunstall, Foxes and a whole lot more.

The GMF will be held on the 3rd and 4th of September. Tickets are available from: www.gibraltarmusicfestival.com/buy
