Cross-border workers eye Gib properties
Cross-border workers who live in Spain are seeking rental homes in Gibraltar to limit the long-term risk of any impact from a Brexit, anecdotal evidence suggests.
Mike Nicholls, the Managing Director of Chestertons estate agent, reported an increase in enquiries for rental properties in Gibraltar since the Brexit vote.
Around 10 people contacted the estate agent within four days of the referendum, three times the usual number.
The enquiries come from a range of people, both in gender and age, but are linked to the gaming industry on the Rock.
“Since last Friday, we have seen a significant increase in demand for residential rental properties. This demand is across the price spectrum,” Mr Nicholls said.
