The ‘Inside Outside’ nature of the Rock’s relationship with Brexit is one of the key themes of Beatrice Garcia’s newest art exhibition.

The two-day ‘pop up’ exhibition titled ‘Inside Outside’ was launched yesterday evening at the GEMA Gallery.

The grid style artwork featuring cityscapes reflects on the Brexit situation Gibraltar currently finds itself in.

“At the moment Gibraltar is not sure as to whether we’re staying inside the European Union or not, and the grid plays on that,” Miss Garcia said.

“It’s called ‘Inside Outside’ as we’re not sure whether we’re inside or outside the EU.”

The use of grids in her artwork was inspired by famous American painter and television show host Bob Ross.

Miss Garcia is exhibiting 14 artworks and the exhibition is only open for viewing today and tomorrow.

The short-lived nature of the exhibition aims to incite a sense of urgency and also mirror the transient nature of the social media age.

“With all the noise on social media I wanted something as transitory as we are, so it’s up and then it’s gone,” Miss Garcia said.

“It gives it a bit of urgency and intrigue.”
