Local Tinker Bell takes Guinness World Record

Record breaking Tinker Bell Faye Morse completed the London Marathon in just under four hours to secure the title of ‘fastest women to run a marathon dressed as a film character’.

Mrs Morse passed the finish line in 3 hours 45 minutes last weekend alongside a further 38,000 runners, grabbing the Guinness World Record.

She has also raised almost £1,300 for Childline Gibraltar but is still accepting donations on her ‘everyday hero’ webpage.

Although she thoroughly trained for the event, running five times a week for four months, she was left in rough shape after the marathon.

“I’m bruised and battered, with a ‘wing’ burn all down my back,” Mrs Morse said. “People kept banging into me and the wings provided some unwelcome resistance against the gusting wind on the day.”
