Lottoland pays out €22m to mystery winner

An overnight millionaire plans to spend his cash on a red Ferrari after winning a €22million jackpot from a locally-based lottery business.

This is Lottoland’s biggest payout of all time, with the Gibraltar-based company previously shelling out €3million and €14million jackpots.

The winner, known only as Matthias, does not want to reveal his full identity in light of this life changing win.

But the German winner told the Chronicle both he and his wife were screaming and dancing when they found out, adding that being a millionaire feels great.

“My first thought was ‘I don’t have to work anymore’,” Matthias said.

“The second was that the mortgage for our house has just blown off. Now we can simply live, however I still want to stay who I am. We have to process first and realise what happened.”

He plans on donating part of the prize that has turned his life “upside down”, and now feels complete relaxation as a burden has been lifted from his shoulders.

“Now we can live as we want. Also I thought yay I am going to get a Ferrari in classic red.”
