Man admits child sex offences

A local man admitted to 15 counts of child rape, sexual assault, and possession of indecent photos of children yesterday at the Supreme Court.

James George Bell, 47, of no fixed abode, faces 15 counts from incidents which occurred between 2009 and July 2015.

Bell pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, two counts of causing or encouraging a person under 13 to engage in sexual activity, and two counts of rape of a child under 13. All of these charges related to incidents which occurred between 2009 and 2013.

He also admitted to two counts of assault by penetration, four counts of rape, possession of 331 category C indecent photos of children, possession of one category A photo of an indecent child, and taking 146 indecent photos of a child.

These charges relate to incidents which took place between 2013 and 2015. The photos were found by officers on Bell’s laptop.
