No takers yet for £1m lottery prize

The £1m Christmas lottery prize has yet to be claimed, the Gibraltar Government confirmed yesterday.

The extraordinary draw took place on December 18 but the owner of the winning number 93524 has yet to step forward.

Local supermarket Eroski is said to have sold the ticket and urged customers to check if they had the ticket.

“The ticket remains unclaimed at the time of writing,” a government spokesman confirmed.

“Winners have six months in which to claim their prizes, after which the ticket becomes null and void.”

“Under normal circumstances the monies are recorded as profit on the draw i.e. not paid out.”

This winning ticket was meant to be the top prize “Gibraltar’s biggest” lottery, with the Government announcing the news of the prize increase in July last year.
