Panto time with Peter Pan

Pantomime season is back and the Trafalgar Theatre Group is set to launch its latest production with Peter Pan the panto tonight at the Inces Hall. Curtain up is 7.30pm.

The group, says director Margaret Seed, have never done Peter Pan before. This year she is being helped in the director’s role by Nadine Gonzalez.

“This is always a lovely timeless story with some great characters. The pantomime has been written by James Barry - as far as I know no relation to the original playwright, J.M.Barrie - but as with every performance of Peter Pan a donation is made to the world-famous children's hospital Great Ormond Street Hospital in London,” she adds.

The Trafalgar Theatre Group has been around for 64 years and it looks like this will also be its 64th panto.

“I believe a pantomime has been done every year. I don’t know why or how it seems to have become our speciality but all our members seem to love it so there is never a problem casting it,” she says whilst pointing out the cast this year is around 40 in number.
