Spanish firefighting plane filmed close to Rock

A Spanish firefighting plane is pictured circling the Rock yesterday after picking up water opposite the refinery.
The plane first flew around the Rock from the east side in the Bay of Gibraltar.
Amphibious planes of this type often use sheltered sea opposite the refinery to collect water which they then drop to help extinguish and control fires.
It is unusual, however, to see one operate so close to the Rock, although the Chronicle understands it was in contact with authorities in Gibraltar throughout.
