Time capsule sealed behind Queen’s plaque
A time capsule was buried at the new St Bernard’s first and middle school yesterday behind the foundation stone laid by the Queen when she visited the Rock in May 1954.
Pupils from both the middle and first school helped Gibraltar Government ministers Steven Linares and Gilbert Licudi to bury the historic cache.
The time capsule contains a selection of present day items including three editions of the Gibraltar Chronicle, plans for the school, a school prospectus and tie, a letter from the Queen and another from Chief Minister Fabian Picardo, along with a coin celebrating the 75 year commemoration of the Evacuation.
Also included are photographs of items that were in a time capsule that was found at the same site earlier this year.
