Tuna fisherman charged

A Spanish fisherman accused of illegally fishing tuna in British Gibraltar Waters has been charged and yesterday appeared before the courts.

The 55-year old man was earlier this week charged with obstructing police, obstructing wildlife wardens and fishing in British Gibraltar Territorial Waters without a valid permit.

The case dates back to October 2015 but it was not until January 2016 that the La Linea resident was arrested and subsequently charged on Monday April 4.
