UK flights grounded due to weather
Two flights due to land in Gibraltar from London on Friday were cancelled and pushed to Saturday due to the stormy weather.
EasyJet's flight from London Gatwick to the Rock was held back overnight due to low visibility conditions at Gibraltar Airport.
A spokesman for easyJet said the airline was “doing all possible to minimise the impact of the disruption for our customers, providing hotel accommodation and meals where required.”
“Whilst this is outside of our control we would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by the weather.”
“The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is our highest priority.”
Also expected to land on the Rock on Friday is the WizzAir flight from London Luton.
However, shortly after 1.30pm, the flight’s departure from the UK was delayed for 24 hours.
