Milan project opens at Bacarisas Gallery

The Milan Art Project was officially opened last night at the Gustavo Bacarisas Gallery in Casemates by Social Services Minister Samantha Sacramento

“This is not an art exhibition by people with learning disabilities. This is an art exhibition like any other,” she commented.

The works have all been created by the service users of St Bernadette’s Centre and the Dr. Giraldi Home and in all there are 60 works on display.

Minister Sacramento was standing next to Carlos Banderas, Head of Learning Disability Services, who had made the project possible. Congratulating all 37 artists the Minister told all those present: “If you have had the opportunity to look at the paintings then you will have seen and appreciated the quality of each painting which tell a story.”
