Basketball league could be decided on Monday
With 3 match days left in the GABBA First Division League, the outcome of this could well be decided on Monday when leaders Bavaria Blue Stars face Gibyellow (tip-off 9.00pm).
A win for Bavaria will win them the title, however, if Gibyellow win it will give them the head-to-head advantage (having won 2 of the 3 matches between them), and the title, in a theoretical tie at the top of the final table, providing they also beat Laundry La Colada in their final match, and Bavaria lose to Valmar Harlem and Lincoln Bayside in their remaining matches.
There is even a remote possibility of a triple tie at the top, adding Lincoln Bayside to the mix but, Monday’s results may, or may not, clear this up. Watch this space.
This situation has come about after the results of the matches played either side of the Easter break, where Bavaria Blue Stars put paid to Valmar Harlem’s slim title hopes with a one-point win in overtime, and followed this up with a big win over Lincoln Bayside. Gibyellow, meanwhile, beat Laundry La Colada and also had a narrow win over Valmar Harlem, a significant result which keeps them in the title hunt.
