Darts Pro versus students ends in thrilling win for local student

Year 8 Bayside students enjoyed a morning of darts as former Youth Champion Michael Smith took on four Bayside students in an exhibition match prior to the start of the Pepperami Gibraltar Darts Trophy.

The students were in for a thrilling morning as the official for the match, and presenter Russ Bray asked them to make as much noise as possible when cheering for their colleagues.

The exhibition matches saw its first surprise when young Galliano won the first match against the top pro Michael Smith prompting Russ Bray to comment that “Gibraltar’s Dart future was in very good hands.”

Galliano was later to take on Jerome Duarte in the Under 16 Gibraltar Darts final, played in front of the Year 8 crowd. Duarte coming out the eventual winner.
