Endangered limpets could hinder Rosia project

Endangered limpets featured on a list of items that need clarification before outline planning permission can be granted for the Rosia Bay development project following yesterday’ meeting of the Development and Planning Commission.

The developers for the £4.5million project and five objectors addressed the commission in a special afternoon sitting of the DPC.

In February 2014 the DPC agreed a scheme subject to the outcome of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). In January 2015 a scoping opinion was issued and the following October an amended scheme and Environmental Statement was submitted to Town Planning for consideration.

At yesterday’s meeting the commission were informed that outline planning permission cannot be granted until all the environmental information was considered. This includes environmental statements, representations from the department or agency for environment and representations made by anybody or person.
