GFA supports Infantino in FIFA Presidency bid
The Gibraltar FA has backed Gianni Infantino, UEFA General Secretary, to become the new FIFA President and implement the change that ‘FIFA so desperately needs’.
Gibraltar will not participate in the vote due to its pending appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Brussels to become a FIFA member but has made its feelings clear in support of Mr Infantino.
“The Gibraltar FA has enjoyed an excellent relationship with Mr Infantino over the past three years and has been able to witness, at first hand, his diligence and efficiency in his role as well as his passion for football,” a spokesman said. “The Gibraltar FA is confident that Gianni represents the change that FIFA so desperately needs and wishes him every success in the forthcoming election.”
Mr Infantino was quick in his response to the support shown by the Gibraltar FA for his FIFA candidacy and took to twitter to show his appreciation.
Thank you @GibraltarFA for the kind words https://t.co/mY5zj5Gris
