Gib-wide search for Akira

Akira, a three year old petit boxer, has been missing in Gibraltar after bolting during the National Day fireworks display.

Her distraught owner Jayrene Patterson, who has had her since she was two months old, has put up a £1,000 reward for her safe return.

Akira was in her usual spot by the Calpe having a run around with her owner’s sister Aislinn Patterson and her dog on September 10 when the fireworks display started.

The dog ran off toward the Upper Rock nature reserve and efforts to track her down proved futile.

Ms Patterson and her family have been up the Rock daily searching, but the dog has not been seen since Saturday.
