‘Gibraltar Stronger in Europe’ sets up on Main Street

‘Gibraltar Stronger in Europe’, a campaign group against Brexit, will officially launch tomorrow and has set up camp in premises on Main Street.

The campaign announced last week aims to inform the general public of the upcoming EU referendum on June 23 which will decide whether or not the UK and Gibraltar remain in the European Union.

The group comprised of local volunteers is led by Gemma Vasquez, Chair of the Gibraltar Federation of Small Businesses and is backed by all three local political parties, the GSLP, the Liberal Party and the GSD. Gibraltar Stronger in Europe will launch on April 12 at the Piazza where they will be asking members of the public to sign up to the campaign.

“For Gibraltar I think it is particularly important that we stay in Europe,” Mrs Vasquez said.

“I think it is important to get people registered and voting on June 23, and voting for the ‘in’ campaign to remain in the EU rather than to leave.”

The campaigns premises opposite St Mary’s Church in Main Street will provide information on how to register to vote and pamphlets.
