Gibraltar’s MTB riders in action again

Gibraltar’s MTB riders were back in action this past weekend at the Campeonato de Andalucia btt maraton Sierra del Arca.
Braving the adverse weather affecting the region Saturday saw not just Gibraltar riders but some of the “big guns” participating in the MTB circuit attending the event.
Gibraltar’s riders had some decent results considering the top class level of participants.
Giles Cerisola, was to once again obtain one of the best positions finishing 20th in the Elite category, 59th in the overall.
Karl Sciortino, who finished 67th in the Masters 40 was to be the next through the finish in 182nd position, with Mathew Corbacho finishing just behind in 183rd place, this being 31st in the Elite.

Speaking to Giles Cerisola after the event he was to comment, “a fantastic track, showers in the days prior certainly aided the terrain well and made it far more enjoyable as well as faster. It felt good having team PEB attending in numbers and as a club that we are. Hopefully this will motivate more riders to join us in races and other cycling enthusiasts to join our ever growing club.”
