Grassroots football from strength to strength

For the next 10 days its 'football for all' at the Victoria Stadium. Following on from the very successful 'Play Without Pressure weekends' where 72 boys and girls took part in recreational session lead by the GFA Grassroots Manager Leslie Asquez, today saw 130 children enrol in the GFA annual football Summer camp.

Desi Curry (Technical Director) said: 'It’s a joy to see so many young Gibraltarians getting up early every morning to join in in our structured skill and small sided games sessions. Each age specific group has a qualified and certified Coach leading the session ably assisted by some of our young International youth and Club players.’

‘The purpose of these camps is to offer a safe, fun and inclusive environment where young people can come and not just play football, but also meet new friends while expanding on their footballing skills!!’

Desi also went on to say: ‘One of the most pleasing aspect of the camp is that may new faces are appearing, some of these boys and girls are not affiliated to any Club, but just want to come along and have some fun!!’

The summer camp runs from Today to July 24. - GFA media
