Harvey unfortunate to not get the gold

Jersey’s Eliot Dory did not only win gold in the 5000m at Lathbury Sports Complex. his crucial last minute surge to the front to nick the Gold in the last metres as he reached the finishing line also stole the hopes of Harvey Dixon claiming a momentous victory on his home soil.
Harvey had led for parts of the race, and was to take the lead before Cory came from behind him to finish in a sprint finish.
Gibraltar collected silver leaving Harvey Dixon now with just the 1500m to get gold in the Gibraltar 2019 Natwest International Island Games.
Harvey will be joined in the 1500m finals by Cameron Payas who also qualified this Wednesday morning.
