Jerusalem councillor visits her hometown’s Parliament
Fleur Hassan-Nahoum, the daughter of the late Sir Joshua Hassan, yesterday met with the Mayor and Speaker of Parliament, Adolfo Canepa, during her first visit to the Rock since she was appointed member of Jerusalem City Council.
Mrs Hassan-Nahoum was joined by her sister, independent Gibraltar MP Marlene Hassan Nahon, and met Mr Canepa at Parliament House.
There are currently 31 members in the Jerusalem City Council including the local mayor.
Mrs Hassan-Nahoum belongs to the Yerushalmim Party, which has three members in city council.
She returns to the Rock every summer to visit her family after leaving Gibraltar when she was 19 years old.
“I love coming back to Gibraltar, I love reconnecting with the streets, the buildings and the Rock, and my family and my friends,” Mrs Hassan-Nahoum said.
