Juniors in action against visitors this weekend
The mid-term school break starts this weekend for Gibraltar’s U17 national selection with a double header challenge as they take on Gowerton School on Sunday and Tuesday.
Gibraltar’s U17s will be hoping to provide their own spooks on Halloween as Gibraltar’s young talents take to the field with some players already having experienced playing alongside the seniors in the domestic leagues.
With Gibraltar hockey pushing forward its development plans to provide youth hockey with international experience, it is hoped that the midterm break will also provide the youngsters with some support from the stands.
In the meantime, the domestic season continued last weekend with Grammarians levelling the scores after their previous defeat against Eagles. In their second encounter Grammarians came away with an 8-5 victory in what was another enthralling encounter.
In the women’s division cup matches, Europa continued with their unbeaten cup run beating Titans 3-1.
Bavaria Hawks also came away with a notable victory after beating Eagles ladies 3-1.
In the men’s second division the veterans continued to stamp their mark this time with a 4-0 victory over Eagles Reserves. Their second consecutive victory.
