La Linea police raid cannabis farm

A La Línea resident who was found to be in possession of 80 cannabis sativa plants was arrested by the Spanish police.

The 30-year old man was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and electricity theft.

Officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the Sagrado Corazon neighbourhood where they discovered the cannabis factory.

In addition to the cannabis sativa plants, officers found electricity transformers, extractor fans, lamps, ventilators, thermostats, fertilisers and plant pots.

“All these materials indicate that the goal was to illegally cultivate marijuana,” the police said in a statement.

“The suspect created an ideal microclimate to be able to grow these plants throughout the year.”
