Main Street set for Small Business Saturday

Gibraltar will be staging its third consecutive ‘Small Business Saturday’ tomorrow.

The aim of this event is to further encourage commercial activity in Gibraltar. It will take place along Main Street and its adjacent streets.

The event, which has been organised by the Ministry of Business and Employment, is part of a concerted drive to continue boosting local trade and economic activity. It will also include a programme of entertainment for all the family.

The event is supported by the Office of Fair Trading, the Business Support Unit, the Gibraltar Federation of Small Businesses and the Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce.

The entertainment will include the existing fair attractions at John Mackintosh Square, arts and crafts, free bouncy castles and other fun activities for children.

The Minister for Business and Employment, Neil Costa, said: “This is the third consecutive year of the Small Business Saturday. We are always looking at ways of enhancing Gibraltar’s well-established shopping experience and underlining our firm commitment in that respect by providing trading opportunities for local small businesses."

"An initiative like this will encourage the public to spend locally.”
