Man arrested for dangerous driving and tobacco offences
A 22-year old man local man was arrested this weekend by police in the early hours for dangerous driving and tobacco-related offences.
The arrest came shortly after the individual allegedly drove a locally registered vehicle dangerously along North Mole Road while attempting to interfere with a HM Customs vehicle that was in pursuit of another vehicle.
Following his arrest for dangerous driving and obstructing a Customs Officer, a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of two radio transceivers.
The man was further arrested on suspicion of keeping two radio transceivers without a licence and for being knowingly concerned in the attempted exportation of cigarettes without a licence.
He was later bailed out to appear at New Mole House at a later date, pending the outcome of the investigation.
