Mayor visits Government ministry and RGP

Mayor of Gibraltar Christian Santos recently paid a visit to Ministry for Business, Tourism, Transport and the Port and the Royal Gibraltar Police station at New Mole House.

Mr Santos visited the ministry at the invitation of Minister Vijay Daryanani.

The possibility of opening the Mayor’s Parlour for tourism purposes, Mr Santos’s “We are one” campaign, and future twinings with other cities were discussed.

Mr Daryanani said that he was “delighted to welcome Christian to [his] offices. His infectious enthusiasm for Gibraltar and our community is so evident”.

He added: “There is a lot we can do together and I look forward to working with him on tourism projects but, above all, for the whole of our wonderful community”.

Mr Santos was also welcomed to New Mole House by the Commissioner of Police Richard Ullger.

The invitation saw Mr Santos attend a briefing on the RGP’s diversity strategy and the formation of the LGBT+ forum.

As one of our Pride Month events, this seemed an excellent opportunity to invite the Mayor to be a partner in our Diversity programme,” Commissioner Mr Ullger said.

“It also gave us the opportunity to stress that we really are an equal opportunities employer and that we value the contribution of our LGBT+ officers and civilian staff.” he added.

I was able to show the Mayor that we are truly an inclusive organisation - not only this month, but at all times and in everything we do.”
