An application for the reconfiguration, extension and modification of pontoons and services at gun wharf to provide access and support for new Royal Navy Gibraltar Squadron craft has been filed with the Town Planner.

The expected cost of the project is £500,000.

According to the application work will consist of extending or modifying the existing pontoons arrangement to make room for the new vessel requirements, while also ensuring there is enough space for manoeuvrability.

The new pontoons will be suitable for the berthing of all specified vessels and will have all the necessary potable water and electricity to support the vessel that is berthed there.

A facility to remove the grey/black water while the vessel is alongside will also be provided.

A new fuel storage system will also be installed.
