Nations League match sold out

The Gibraltar FA were celebrating this week well before kick-off arrives with the news that all tickets for the Gibraltar versus Armenia match to be held this Friday at Victoria Stadium are sold out.

By midday on Tuesday the few tickets which were left for the East stand were soon purchased after a rush for tickets had been seen immediately after Gibraltar's last home victory against Linchenstien last month.

With the match on Friday now a crucial decider which could place Gibraltar in line to play for promotion in their last match against Macedonia the interest for tickets took an unusual step for Gibraltar football.

Although there is no known record prior to Gibraltar's entry into UEFA this was the first time that tickets for an international match hosted in Gibraltar had sold out with still three days to go before kick-off.

The previous match saw tickets sold out some six hours before kick-off leaving many fans disappointed on the day.

Fans were on Tuesday informed of the sell out of tickets well in advance ensuring that fans can make other arrangements to watch the match. It will be broadcast live on GBC as from 2035hrs with kick off at 2045hrs.

Gibraltar will now be guaranteed a full capacity crowd of close to 3,000 fans in what will be the last UEFA Nations League home match for Gibraltar this season.
